Are you a completeist when it comes to your favorite recording artists? (Meaning do you have to have everything they release even if its another best of compilation or something of that nature)

I am not a complete-ist when it comes to my favorite recording artists. There are some artists who have a “knack” for picking the right songs for their albums and for those artists, I will buy anything they make…. Because they seem to be *hit* makers. For other favorites, I find myself only liking 2 or 3 songs on the album. The other songs don’t have the right hook or sound too *mainstream* packaged. You know, like the producer said something like… “Well so and so used this sound on his/her album and it’s a number one hit, so let’s add something similar to ours!”

Have you ever bought more than one copy of a certain album? If you did, tell us why.

Yes. I bought the Hope Floats soundtrack twice, because I thought I lost the first one. I really liked the serenity of the album so it wasn’t a bad thing. When the first copy ended up wearing out, I played the second copy.

Which bands make up the majority of your collection? How many CDs, Lps, cassettes etc?

Mariah Carey (5), Staind (3), Incubus (2), No Doubt (3), Gwen Stefani (2), Matchbox 20 (2), Toni Braxton (2), Dave Matthews (4), etc.

I guess from this you can tell that I am a big Mariah Carey & Dave Matthews fan! She was the idol of my youth but then I grew to adore rock and hard rock just a bit more. I absolutely adore Dave Matthews Band because it reminds me of college. Ahhhh Good times, good times.

Do you buy an album from a band just because you like them or do you wait until you've heard it before making the purchase?

I wait until I’ve heard it before making the purchase. Not all of my favorite bands put out good albums and I’m not the kind to buy the brand just because it is a brand if you know what I mean.
