Swimmer’s ear… not just for kids.

So I woke up this morning with a totally swollen right-ear. Nice. It felt like someone was jamming chopsticks into said ear and grinding.

I Googled my diagnosis and came up with “swimmer’s ear”. I have never had swimmer’s ear and haven’t been swimming as of late. So all I can think is that I must have gotten some water stuck in my ear during showers… or something.

I went to the med-center and the doctor confirmed it. He wrote me a prescription for anti-biotic ear drops. My ear still feels like a thousand red ants are biting it. Oh and did I mention that my ear is swollen as all get out? It’s like that scene from the movie “Hitch” when Will Smith’s character eats something that he is allergic to and then his whole face swells up as a result. Well that’s me right now. I’m downright purty.

Swimmer’s ear always seemed like something that kids get (because kids probably spend more time swimming than adults?).

But I am here to confirm that unlike Trix, swimmer’s ear is not just for kids.
