You’re not afraid to be a little tacky.

My oldest…. shares his 5 years of Christmas experience with the younger two.  He knows how many days there are in December until Christmas (and has managed to tell us everyday how many days are left… like our own little Christmas countdown clock).  He knows how Santa operates and this year has started to ask the tough questions.  How does Santa carry all of those presents?  How do reindeer fly?  I answer each question confidently.  Because those were the same answers my parents gave me.

My daughter (little miss), loves to watch Mickey’s Christmas Carol.  The cartoon was made in 1983 and it’s still a massive win with children.  I can’t tell you how many times we have watched this particular cartoon, but I do know that we watch it at least 3 times a day.  And every time, her face lights up in anticipation.  And every time she sits as still as can be until it is over.

Brobes (the littlest guy), has been taking leaps and bounds in the language department.  The other day he said… “Mommeee… it’s beeping”.  This was in reference to his chicken nuggets that were in the oven (the timer went off).   It’s precious.  I want him to be little for just a little while longer… so that I can continue to drink in all of those adorable baby features and run my fingers through that blond head of curls that he was blessed with.

I sit back and look at my three and feel happy.  I feel happy that I can share old traditions with them and create new ones all our own.

Do you have holiday cards made or do you buy them from the store?

Christmas however, is a whole different thing. Cookies, trees, presents, holiday jingles and colorful lights brighten our days (and our waist lines). When I was a little girl, I can remember picking out our tree from the great wide open of our farm. The trees we picked looked a lot smaller outside than they did when we tried to get them into the house. Now, I am citified and my family and I purchased an artificial christmas tree. It’s not that bad actually and the best part is that I don’t have to clean up after dry pine needles or worry about it starting on fire. I have to admit that I can’t wait to get it out in a month!

But let’s face it ladies, unless we women walk our men to the store and point out what we want in a very clear way (ie, “Honey, I want THAT for Christmas”), chances are, our guys will get us something else. And that something else could be… uhm… interesting but not quite what we were hoping for.

So, I was given the opportunity to review this fabulous site that gives tips for guys on what to give and when to give it. Relax guys, not everything jewelry-related (when you are dating) has to be an engagement ring.

Often times, I think I got better presents from my husband when we were dating. Because back in that day, he was trying very hard to impress me. Now that we have three kids and see each other everyday and night, it is safe to say that the mystery is gone. Out with the mystery and out with the jewelry. But it doesn’t have to be that way!

It is 11:39. Husb and I just got done wrapping all of the presents and stuffing the stockings! Boy what a job but I am soooo very excited for Christmas morning! I can’t wait to see the kids’ reactions to all of the presents under the tree!

I started baking cookies yesterday. Owie is no longer asking when Santa will be here but instead counting down the days. So that means I can bake cookies now because in a couple more nights we will be able to put them out for Santa!

I’ve got a great big dinner planned for Christmas day! So much food that I am for sure going to have to get some diet pills to help shed a few unwanted LBs from the holidays!

Too much fun to be had I tell ya! Christmas is absolutely my favorite holiday of all!
