I love Lowe’s. Anytime my husband and I need something for our home — whether we are doing a construction project or looking at replacing light fixtures, we go straight to Lowe’s.

Last year, when we first bought our house, I was at Lowe’s almost every other day for two weeks straight buying paint supplies and asking questions about home projects! The employees were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Good customer service always wins me over — regardless of price. However, in the case of Lowe’s, they offer both competitive pricing and great customer service!

What has been your Lowe’s experience?

Have you ever arranged your livingroom in a way that didn’t feel just right? In a way that you couldn’t quite put your finger on but the energy almost seemed to change? That actually happened to me recently as I was trying to figure out which wall to attach the tv mounts to.

My husband and I finally found an arrangement of furniture that felt just right! The livingroom feels so cozy now! It just goes to show that a great layout can change the way a room *feels* as well as looks.

We picked a subtle white-gray floor paint. It looks really nice and very clean. I can’t wait to see the end result of our hard work!

But if you think it’s hard to buy a home now… just imagine how sellers feel. Many sellers have to put their homes up for a short sale (provided they can no longer afford to keep the home). While others have to compete with short sales and foreclosures. What they bought their home for a few years ago has now decreased in value rather than increased.

I can imagine that it is equally as hard for those trying to sell motorhomes and the like. It would be interesting to see what those numbers are. Maybe motorhomes are cheaper to maintain in the long run?

In any case, times are tough and makes me wonder if they will get even tougher.

We recently put a bid in on a house that had a shower that was beautifully tiled with real (stone) tile! The result was amazing! The intricate pattern and earthy colors brought out such an amazing ambiance to the bathroom. It felt modern and traditional at the same time!

Though I admit that I had to ask myself how important it was to me that our first house be something we pick out together not something we buy from a family member. At first it was a slight issue but now it doesn’t matter. It’s like saying I will except nothing less than Kohler faucets even though the goal is to have a faucet that runs water and does its job regardless of kind.

So, as soon as we talk to the MIL about it… it will be semi-official!
