web design
I have to say that I really enjoy my job as a web designer. I am constantly on the look out for the latest design trends. Having said that, it’s kind of a treat to be able to design my own stuff (because 99% of the time I am working on things for my clients — even on my “off time”).
So this is my “new” blog design unveiled.
Have a wonderful night everyone!

web design
I am finally done with the design of my new theme!
Oh and check out the new blog theme for Oh Gracie! Photography. I designed that one as well! I love her photographic style and poise and so it was an honor to design her blog and website! She is definitely a photographer to watch!
Have a great night everyone!
I just came across a website today by the name of Design Charts. Apparently, this is where designers are ranked among their peers (or by those who submit their name and portfolio.
I was a bit disappointed at some of the top pics (only because some didn’t have readily available portfolios to view online).
However, I struck inspirational gold with Fluid Design out of Los Angeles. One of their recent works was of Coupon Chief. I am extremely familiar with this company because I like to peruse their coupons from time to time so as not to miss any online deals.
Anyway, I remembered Coupon Chief in its beginning days. The site was drab, plain and the lack of excitement made it hard for me to want to stay on the page (i.e. I got bored fast). However, this new design is … for lack of better words… cute. It is cute, clean and appropriate. I am very impressed.
Some of the companies listed on the designer’s rankings were submitted more than once and made it to the top of the list more than once as well. I hear often how designers prefer javascript to flash but the flash sites are becoming quite impressive and quite interactive as well!
Another site that I found to be quite impressive and inventive is that of The Turn. Think “Little Big Planet” meets a flash website! It’s a pretty neat site and while it lacks in content (i.e. words), it makes up for it in creativity. It is almost as if this site creator wanted to put this site up “just because he/she could”. Very inventive. Very inventive indeed.
I am delving deeper and deeper into the design aspect of websites. I have found quite a few designers that I admire so don’t be surprised if I feature them on this site! I love art and a good website!
As many of you know (because i’ve mentioned it a bunch of times), I am starting a business where I develop and design websites. One of the things I love, is a good blog design. This blog was designed by the ever fabulous Heather over at Girly Blog Designz! I’m considering contacting her for another one since she did such a great job on this one!
In your opinion, what makes a good blog theme? What would you be willing to pay for a good blog theme? How often would you change up your theme?
Since I have immersed myself in all things dot com and am learning both web design and web programming (aka from this point on “web development”), I have come across a few designers whose work I admire. With a little luck, perhaps i’ll be able to post an interview with them in the near future. For now though, i’d like to tell you about the first designer whose work I admire….
Her blog: Scribble Scratch Her design site: So Chic Design
First of all, she is one of the only designers that I have seen who offers up cute freebie blog designs. The designs are not only simply delicious to view, they are also FREE. Take it from me, it is so very hard to find a culpable girly-ish blog design without endless hours of Google search.
Second, she has a very good “eye” for color and graphic design. Her own blog “Scribble Scratch”, shows that by the ever-so-cute blog headings coupled with enticing color and appealing design!
This is what makes her…. one of the web designers I admire!
